i heard that warcraft patch 1.24b and 1.24c is compatible however i heard it form other sites that it is not compatible

1.24c and 1.24b NOT compatible
Blizzard has just released a new patch for Warcraft III. The new 1.24c is NOT compatible with 1.24b, meaning you cannot connect with other players to play games or watch old version replays. Although you can see and enter the other games in LAN, you will be disconnected immediately after game is loaded. This is the problem from the Warcraft III itself. Please be careful and make sure you are playing with others using the same version.
Garena will release a patch to separate 1.24b and 1.24c so the players with different version won't be able to see each other's game. It is not recommended to update your Warcraft to 1.24c until Garena releases the patch and creates more dedicated 1.24c-only room.

It's being said that 1.24c and 1.24b has 1% compatibility, so you can see and join the room of each patch even though there will be trouble like lag/spike or even DC. But i still don't know the details..

armmm if u are 1.24b u can see 1.24c 's game but.U will Dc once it is loaded
Same goes for the other way round

1.24b and 1.24c aren't compatible with DotA but I did seem to get one map working, forgot the name of it though =x. So like alief said, very low chance.

they said they are compatible, but in Garena they arent..i played in my bnet account, there are some games i can see but still few..even when i host a game, few are joining..

Ok, here's my experience in garena using different patch (1.24b & 1.24c) -> always DC after loading finish  So, i suggest you to check the patch before start playing together

There was one random map, (I think normal melee map), that I was able to play 1.24c with. Someone hosted it saying he was using 1.24b. I played it without ever disconnecting. Either on low chance it works or the host was lying  . _________________
